Firefox 4.0 Mockup Interface Screenshots

Firefox 4.0 Mockup Interface ScreenshotsSeem like it is quite fast to see a screenshot of Firefox 4.0's interface but this is just a mockup. Do you think that this one can the the true on? I think that this interface is not bad but I need some time to get myself with it. The tab is quite high than the previous one that I can find it harder to change by using my mouse so I need to use keyboard instead.

Anyway here are the positives and negatives of the new UI compiled by Mozilla:

Positives:

  • Save Vertical Space
  • Efficiency/Remove Visual Complexity – Right now the tabs have to be connected to something. So we are adding an extra visual element for them to connect to.
  • Shorter Mouse Distance to Page Controls.

Negatives:

  • Breaks Consistency/Familiarity – Moving things confuses existing users.
  • Title is MIA – With the space removed from the titlebar you only get the truncated version in the tab.
  • Longer Mouse Distance to Tabs – Takes longer to mouse to a tab.
  • Lost Space
  • Sandwiched in between the application icon and the window widgets you lose some space.
