Mercedes Introduced the SPLITVIEW COMAND Display System for the S-Class models

What's new about technology? Well, Mercedes has announced the S-Class models, equipped with SPLITVIEW system, which is able to view two separate programs via the same COMAND display. It means that the driver can check the GPS while the passenger is watching a DVD or something equally distracting on the same 8-inch screen.

Here is the secret behind the SPLITVIEW COMAND display for the S-Class models

This shows two different images simultaneously by placing pixels adjacent to each other. A filter masking the display divides this mixed image in such a way that depending on the seating position, only the pixels making up one or the other image can be seen. As a result, the driver and front passenger can view different programmes on the same screen at the same time.
