Kenya's Safaricom Launches Solar Phone for People Far From Town

Kenya's Safaricom Launches Solar Phone for People Far From TownIt has been a few days already since Kenya's Safaricom launched this Solar phone. This phone is really one of eco-friendly phone which not only a built-in solar panel that charges the phone using the sun’s rays but made of recycled materials.

Actually this phone is the result of partnership between ZTE Corp., and Safaricom with the purpose of making everyone who lives far away from town can easily charge their batter without having to move to the nearest town to charge their phone. In Kenya, not every part can reach electricity.

“Our subscribers will now not have to take their phones to merchants for charging and wait all day for their handsets to charge in order to make calls,” Joseph said.

In addition we also have seen two devices from Samsung earlier this year, which are also solar-powered, the Blue Earth and the Crest Solar but the two of them are yet to be available in US market.
