Silicon And Exotic Elements Solar Panel 80% Absorb
Do you like this story?
Researchers at Idaho National Laboratory, along with partners at Microcontinuum Inc. (Cambridge, MA) and Patrick Pinhero of the University of Missouri has designed a new light and effective solar panel. Each cell is made of silicon and doped with exotic elements to boost its efficiency. It can absorb energy up to 80%. They implemented nanoantennas which can take in energy from both sunlight and the earth's heat, with higher efficiency than conventional solar cells. This new solar panel will cost cheaper compared with other solar panels.
